USING the SSPs for research, assessment, and decision-making
Organizer: Kristie L. Ebi (University of Washington)
As the SSPs are increasingly being used for research and assessment, and to inform decision-making, there remains confusion about their nature and appropriate use. This workshop reviews the components of the matrix architecture and provides guidance on their appropriate use. The workshop will feature presentations on (1) the components of the matrix architecture, including the quantitative SSP data in the IIASA database, and (2) development of scenarios for research and assessment from combining the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (or other development pathways) with the Representative Concentration Pathways. These presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with extensive participant engagement on research needs and opportunities.
Submissions of abstracts to this session are not being accepted since all panel members will be invited, in order to reflect the specific perspectives described above.
